Alcohol-free red wine

Leitz's Zero Point Five Pinot Noir takes the estate's careful process into red wine territory. The grapes come from the Pfalz, a warmer German region better suited to red varieties, then go through full fermentation before a gentle vacuum distillation at around 30°C removes the alcohol without stripping the character.
The result is ruby red in the glass, with juicy red currant and cherry, a nicely embedded tannin structure, and a near-dry finish that holds on longer than you'd expect from a dealcoholized red. Serve it slightly chilled, and it stands up well to roast dinners, game, or grilled fish.
