Leitz's Eins-Zwei-Zero Chardonnay comes from one of Germany's most respected Riesling estates — Weingut Leitz in Rüdesheim am Rhein, the Rheingau region. For this Chardonnay, Leitz sourced grapes from the Pfalz, a warmer German region better suited to the variety, then used the same careful process as the rest of the range: full fermentation, followed by gentle vacuum distillation at around 27°C to remove the alcohol while keeping the aromas intact.
The result is crisp and clean, with notes of ripe pear, green apple, and a touch of citrus zest, a light-to-medium body, and a dry, lingering finish — not oaky, not heavy, just honest Chardonnay character without the alcohol. Serve well chilled, and it holds its own next to roast chicken, white fish, or something buttery.
